I thought that I would start my first blog post by talking about myself;
how Moonstone came about; and what I see for the future of the business.
So let me introduce myself! My name is Caitlin and I’m a 21 year old
Media student from the Central Coast. I’m currently in my final year of
university at UNSW. I split my time between studying, working part time
waitressing and working full time behind the scenes at Moonstone Nail
Polish.
Moonstone evolved from an obsession with collecting nail polish. After
falling down the rabbit hole that is nail polish addiction (of which I’m sure
you are familiar), I soon discovered that it was possible to create your own
nail polish from scratch. And so my adventure into indie nail polish began.
The name ‘Moonstone’ comes from my other passion in life, Harry Potter.
In the Harry Potter universe, Moonstone is a potion ingredient commonly used in
love potions. I liked the parallels between potion making and nail polish
mixing and I was also captivated by the beautiful 'glow from within' look that actual moonstones have. And so the name was born!
To date, I have two collections inspired by Harry Potter and a third is due to be released very soon.
Something that I’ve had in the works for a long time know is getting
ready for Moonstone to feature in it’s very first market! This is a huge
milestone for Moonstone and I’m very excited about finally getting to meet my
customers for the first time, face to face. More details about market dates

The thing that I am most often asked is ‘but how do you make it?!’ and I
know a lot of you ladies are interested in the process too. So, today I have a
very special behind the scenes process photoset that also features an
unreleased shade from the upcoming Halloween Trio! Say hello to Deathday Party…
